This review aims to discuss the role of ENT physicians in the early diagnosis and therapy of Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) in children in primary care and their approaches to this disorder. CAPD is difficulty listening to and understanding speech in daily life, despite normal hearing thresholds, intelligence level, and language skills, as determined by audiologic evaluation. Early diagnosis of CAPD is critical in ensuring children do not fall behind their peers in academic, social, and emotional development. In this context, the role of the ENT physician in the diagnostic process, necessary measurements, behavioral tests, and differential diagnosis are discussed in the present article. Discovering the nature of the disorder is important for the correct diagnosis of CAPD and the preparation of specific educational programs, so that existing problems can be effectively addressed using the right therapy techniques.
